Meral Müjde Schramm spent most of her life in Istanbul, where she studied archaeology at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Her hometown of Istanbul and her studies shaped her perspective on the world and different cultures. Her life is a balancing act between the Occident and the Orient, between modernity and tradition, between restrictions and complete freedom.

In her works, she seeks to visualize the coexistence of these opposites. At first glance, the vibrant colors in her paintings evoke a sense of joy and optimism, but upon closer inspection, tensions and unease emerge. This duality reflects the artist's life and perspective: happiness mixed with unease, optimism combined with a touch of pessimism.

With her works, which combine these contrasting emotions, the artist reminds the viewer of the complexity and diversity of life. Each brushstroke tells a story in which past and present, chaos and order merge.
